MILAN – illycaffè is opening this week a new café in Bristol. It will be the first UK illycaffè outside London and promises to combine a “genuine Italian café experience with illy’s chic design ideals and innovative high-end technology,” said a spokesperson. It is the tenth illy outlet in the UK.
Located at 73 Queen’s Road, the new cafe will offer the wordwide famous illy blend as well as sweet and savoury treats, including breakfast pastries, light lunches and Mediterranean dishes. A small retail area will also sell illy products.
The locatoin will also be impressive in design, with a reproduction of a 1934 illustration designed for illy by Bauhaus artist Xanti Schawinskya and chandelier made from around 100 coffee cups as its centrepiece.
