LONDON, UK – The Embassy of the Republic of Honduras to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland informs that Honduras will hold its First Global Auction of Specialty Coffees: DO Marcala 2020, on Tuesday, 08 September 2020 from 09:00 to 15:00 hours (BST/GMT +1).
DO Marcala 2020 will take place via a dynamic virtual platform with informative content about the growers and their coffees.
DO Marcala Specialty Coffee will be auctioning 36 batches (micro and nano lots) of coffee from the región defined as DO Marcala, which consists of 19 different communities all located on the Montecillos mountain range, the best coffee producing area in Honduras.
The offered lots have diverse specifications and finishing:
- 2 of the lots were prepared through anaerobic fermentation;
- 12 are natural coffees;
- 5 using the honey method;
- and 17 are washed coffees; all with a unique profile and notes.
All 36 certified to be above 86% in the SCAA Q grading system.
