MILAN — Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) announces the cancellation of the 2020 World of Coffee trade show scheduled to take place October 15-17 in Warsaw, due to ongoing health and safety concerns. “In March, we announced that World of Coffee Warsaw, originally scheduled to take place in June 2020, would be postponed to October due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic” said SCA’s CEO Yannis Apostolopoulos in a statement.

“In July, we announced that the 2020 World Coffee Championships, scheduled to take place in Melbourne and Warsaw, were officially canceled.

The difficult decision to cancel the 2020 World of Coffee was made in close consultation with exhibitors, our partners at the PTAK Warsaw Expo venue, and other local business partners. World of Coffee is currently scheduled to travel to Athens in June 2021 and the SCA plans to bring the trade show to Warsaw in June 2022.

If you registered to attend or exhibit at the 2020 World of Coffee, please check your inbox for an email with important information about an automatic credit of monies paid towards the 2021 World of Coffee in Athens. While global circumstances still make it hard to convene in person, we at the SCA remain committed to connecting global coffee communities via digital means, and returning to in-person gatherings as soon as is prudent. Visit our website to learn more about our initiatives, including the New In Coffee and Design in Coffee digital showcases, and visit SCA News for videos, podcasts, and many more opportunities to connect and engage.

I want to say thank you to every single one of our exhibitors, attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for your patience and understanding as we navigate a tumultuous year of events. Our industry is demonstrating its resilience and determination. Together we will weather this storm and find ourselves much stronger when we next meet in person” concluded Apostolopoulos.
