From January to April 2016, sixteen countries – and one team operating in international waters representing cruise liners in the Americas – will host local heats to name the top bar teams that will be sent to the global final in Sweden June 2016.
In the final, teams will fly to Sweden to compete over four days, tested on a variety of challenges designed to mimic the pace of a working bar.
Starting the minute the bar teams touch down in Ahus, south of Sweden to when the winners are announced in the Stockholm, team will show off their talents in the areas of creative mixing, knowledge, speed and skill.
This competition steps away from the traditional formats of other bar competitions, and instead surprises bar teams with unique challenges that are set to test their teamwork skills at a high pace with a race to the very finish.
Having pioneered the very first cocktail competition in the 1997 at the Met Bar, London, Absolut became known for being one of the first brands that celebrated the skills of bartenders who broke the boundaries of what to expect in a cocktail.
With Absolut Invite – Team Edition, Absolut is now turning the spotlight on the often overlooked heroes of the night, whose expertise comes through in the realities of high-volume nightlife spaces.
The competition jury will consist of Scott Baird and Josh Harris of the Bonvivants and owners of Trick Dog in San Francisco, along with Anna Schreil – Head of Operations at The Absolut Company, Ben Reed, author and owner of Create Cocktails.
