President Yoweri Museveni received on Sunday 13th July a delegation of investors from Italy, set to add value to Ugandan Coffee under their group ‘Uganda Vinci Coffee Company Limited’.
The delegation that called on the President at his country home in Rwakitura -Kiruhura district, was led by the Chairperson of the Board of the company, Ms Enrica Pinetti, accompanied by the Managing Director of Uganda Coffee development Authority, Mr. Henry Ngabirano.
Ms. Enrica Pinetti informed President Museveni that they are set to establish the company at Namanve Industrial Park, that will be roasting, manufacturing and packing instant coffee for export and home use.
The delegation demonstrated their seriousness before President Museveni, by roasting coffee seeds using a mini roaster, and made the President taste different delicious samples that excited him a great deal.
“I have spent a very long time trying to get somebody to add value to our coffee, Uganda has been a donor by exporting raw coffee,” he remarked while testing the instant coffee made by members of the delegation.
President Museveni welcomed the investors to Uganda and pledged to provide them will all the necessary assistance to ensure that the project takes off soon.
