SEOUL, South Korea — Americanos and cafe lattes are South Koreans’ favorite coffee drinks, a recent research has showed.
Starbucks Coffee Korea Co. analyzed data on coffee preferences from 5 million Starbucks members last year, which showed that Americanos are the most popular coffee drink in South Korea, followed by cafe latte.
“Both drinks add either water or milk to an espresso, which go along with customer preferences for a soft, aromatic taste,” said Starbucks Coffee Korea.
Starbucks entered South Korea in 1999 and operates over 1,300 stores, including 50 premium outlets.
Starbucks Korea earned 1.5 trillion won ($1.26 billion) in 2018, up 20 percent from 1.28 trillion won a year earlier.
