The first coffee launched by Amongi’s is Colombia, Antioquia, a single origin, medium roasted coffee with a refreshing, fruity hint of apples and oranges and a butterscotch sweetness. The organically grown coffee is ethically sourced from the temperate, mountainous terrain of Finca Las Mercedes, in the sub-region of Antioquia. The coffee is delivered in 100% plastic-free packaging, and the Kraft Paper Pouch is fully biodegradable and decomposes in just 10 weeks.
“Our aim is to bring great tasting coffee to consumers while also improving the wellbeing of the environment and society. To this end, we have aligned all aspects of our sourcing, processing, packaging and distribution methods. Amongi’s has partnered with various coffee producers who utilize time honored processing methods, such as the wet processing technique using hand-cranked pulpers, same-tank fermenting and wash, and sun drying on raised beds. The beans themselves are grown organically and with the ancient shade-grown cultivation method under tree canopies. This method preserves soil and minimises carbon dioxide levels. The packaging is 100% biodegradable in just ten weeks. The ziplock on the top and compostable valve allow for ultra-freshness on resealing.
Amongi’s is committed to offering the finest coffee, minimum ecological footprint and supporting communities with social initiatives and conscious consumerism.Its first initiative is reforestation. For every 100 bags of coffee sold through its website, 10% of the profits will go towards planting trees, and promoting community welfare and other similar organisations.
