UÍGE, Angola – The governor of northern Uige province, Paulo Pombolo, Monday announced the return of coffee production in large scale in Uige in the ambit of diversification of economy process in progress in Angola.
Paulo Pombolo who was speaking in Uige city at a meeting with the Minister of National Defense, João Lourenço, stressed that the return of coffee production is result of relauching process, begun by local government in 2010.
According to Paulo Pombolo since 2010, many peasants abandoned the coffee production for many other activities but now the situation as changed due to the incentives that the coffee growers have been receiving aiming the increase of production.
He also informed that ten coffee buying companies are mobilized for coffee procurement.
