With a good transformation of instant coffee Angola will have market to export its production mainly to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries, reported Monday in Luanda, the former Secretary of Inter – African Coffee Organization (IACO), Josefa Sacko.
Angola has a comparative advantage in economic terms for the countries of the region. Only in our region we can make a manufacturing such as that made in other sectors, Josefa Sacko told ANGOP.
According to her, Angola is currently dictating its fate, for it is facing a market with 160 million inhabitants (South Africa and DRC with 80 million inhabitants each), not including the other members of SADC. Angola can take this time to implement a good program and reactivate the sector.
On the other hand, she said, Angola has also good relations with China and can take advantage of this market to sell instant coffee which is very practical to be made.
Referring to the rehabilitated Railways in the country and the areas to be opened at regional level, she pointed coffee production as one of the great cultures which should lead to a trans-business between Angola and other countries, like the active business practiced in West Africa between Nigeria and Senegal.
Therefore, she stressed, “Angola is now laying the foundation in November for the rehabilitation of our coffee, since the coffee vegetative cycle is three years and its income starts in five years, we will be able to supply any market, stressed Josefa Sacko.
