A Starbucks spokesperson revealed to Eyewitness News ABC 7: “We do not take the decision to close stores lightly. Our relationship with our customers is deeply personal, and we are honored to have been their Third Place.”
EV Grieve was the first to report the store closure, noting that a manager mentioned the rent increase by the landlords as a significant factor.
In response, an ASG Equities spokesperson issued a statement expressing appreciation for the coffee company’s decades-long tenancy and explaining they offered Starbucks a lease extension that would have allowed them to remain in their existing space at the exact same rent but they chose to leave.
