AUSTRALIA – Di Bella Coffee wins nine medals at the Natvia Golden Bean Roaster Competition and Conference 2013

BRISBANE – Two weeks ago, the Di Bella Coffee team landed in Port Macquarie for the annual Natvia Golden Bean Roaster Competition and Conference 2013 –Australia’s most prestigious specialty coffee awards.

The three day conference consists of industry seminars and of course the judging of over 1200 coffees produced by a range of Australian coffee roasters.

The conference is concluded with an awards night where the winners of the competition are announced.

The competition includes 11 categories making it the world’s largest coffee roasting competition.

The categories are:

  • Category 1 – Espresso (Short Black)
  • Category 2 – Milk Based (Latte)
  • Category 3 – Australian Grown (Milk Based)
  • Category 4 – Filter Coffee (Chemex)
  • Category 5 – Organic (Espresso)
  • Category 6 – Single Origin (Espresso)
  • Category 7 – Decaffeinated (Milk Based)
  • Category 8 – Chain Store / Coffee Franchise (Milk Based)
  • Category 9 – Chain Store / Coffee Franchise (Espresso)
  • Category 10 – Home Roaster (Espresso)
  • Category 11 – Home Roaster (Milk Based)
  • Category 12 – Syphon (Steampunk)

The Di Bella Coffee blends received 9 awards on the evening, including bronze and silver medals for our Peru Organic, Nero, Modena, Felici, Ali Reserve and Arnika Reserve, as well as for our Brunetti cafe blends and the Pie Face blends:

  • Organic (Espresso) – Bronze
  • Chain Store / Coffee Franchise (Milk Based) – Bronze and Silver
