MELBOURNE – Organiser of the Melbourne International Coffee Expo released the official list of exhibitors at the end of February. The impressive list includes almost 150 names, with most of the world’s top companies set to have representation at the event. The full list of exhibitors can be viewed at this link.
While all available exhibitor space has been sold, demand has been so high that the organisers are looking at ways to expand the floor space further.
“After the success of 2013, we knew we were going to have to work really hard to top it in 2014,” says MICE Show Director, Clint Hendry. “But with so much interest from the industry both locally and internationally, not to mention the fact that we’ll once again be hosting multiple international competitions, we are confident that we are going to do just that.”
This year’s MICE, which is to be held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from 15 – 18 May, will play host to the World Latte Art, Coffee In Good Spirits , and the World Cup Tasters Championships.
A huge cross-section of businesses from within the industry will be on hand at MICE, ranging from tamper manufacturers to traders and roasters.
Some 36 equipment manufacturers have booked space so far this year, up from 31 last year. These businesses will be coming from all over the world, including plant manufacturer Brambati from Italy, and Swiss automatic coffee machine makers Franke, to name just two.
In line with the growing importance of the capsule segment to the coffee industry overall, the number of capsule equipment manufacturers coming to MICE has grown to six this year.
“Having this many equipment manufacturers at the show will represent a great opportunity to local and regional operators who are looking for ways to harness the best available technologies to help grow their businesses,” says Clint.
The Indonesian Consulate will be joining the producer associations from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala and India to connect roasters and traders to the industry’s source.
More than 20 roasters will be at the show, including a strong representation from Mocopan who will be celebrating its 60th anniversary year.
