CHICAGO, U.S. – NAMA’s Quality Coffee Certificate Program (QCCP) will celebrate its 15th year of coffee education at this year’s Coffee, Tea and Water Show in Washington, D.C. This legendary program educates industry professionals on the best practices, ingredients and techniques involved in brewing great coffee.

Since its inception in October of 2000, more than 1,000 participants have enhanced their coffee knowledge through QCCP. Led by Mike Tompkins, QCCP facilitator and coffee industry expert, the two day course will introduce new topics this year, including cold brew, specialty coffee and the latest coffee service equipment and technology.

A CTW advance-paid program, QCCP will take place from 7:30am-12:00pm on November 2 and 3. Two interactive workshops focusing on coffee fundamentals and new technology offer attendees a meaningful learning experience:

Day 1 (Nov. 2) – Brewing Technologies teaches participants how to evaluate single-serve systems and introduce the principles of filtered coffee. This hands-on session will also include a guided tasting experience that demonstrates just how much the slightest change in the brewing formula can alter the taste profile of the final cup.

Day 2 (Nov. 3) – Coffee Fundamentals presents the development of coffee flavor qualities from the rich history of coffee and its different countries of origin through the bean to cup process. QCCP participants will experience original and blended coffees through a series of guided tasting exercises and gain a fundamental but extensive understanding of coffee production and manufacturing.

QCCP participants may attend one or both sessions of this intensive, hands-on training. Participants that complete both courses will be eligible to apply for the NAMA Certified Coffee Specialist (CCS) designation.

The member cost for QCCP is $350 for one day or $600 for both days. Register at www.coffeeteaandwater.org.
