Becoming espresso coffee tasters: #TEE18 free course participation

TRIESTE, Italy — Learn to taste Italian espresso by attending a free course led by an international brand. The Espresso Italiano Tasting course, organized by IIAC – the International Institute of Coffee Tasters in cooperation with Mazzer, will be held during TriestEspresso Expo, the biennial trade fair taking place October 25-27 in the Porto Vecchio of Trieste-Italy.

The International Institute of Coffee Tasters (Iiac), founded in 1993, with  branches in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China, during its 25 years of history has carried out hundreds courses, especially coffee tasting licenses, attended by operators and coffee lovers from all over the world.

Learn how to distinguish a good espresso from an inferior one and how to get a precise sensory profile of the cup in front of you: that’s what the Espresso Italiano Tasting course is about. The course includes one day of theory and practice, IIAC will provide learning material. (Course programme on www.triestespresso.it – News).

At the end of the training class, for those interested, it will be possible to take the final examination and get the coffee tasting license. The final examination is therefore optional and requires the payment of a fee. The course is free of charge.

How to take part?

There are 15 free places available, to take part, pre-register here http://www.triestespresso.it/en/visit/early-bird-reduced-entry-tickets/ and write “IIAC course” in the “Additional comments & Side Events’, Workshops’, Courses’ Participation” field at the bottom of the form.

The IIAC course is just one of the three training strands set up by TriestEspresso Expo for its ninth edition. Along with IIAC, the professional training menu includes Umami Area and illy – Università del Caffè.

Three strands, three different education methods in the coffee field. A day long course or just short trainings moments focused on a very specific theme. In other words, a training program able to satisfy anyone who wishes to update or strengthen his/hers expertise in the field of espresso coffee.
