OAKVILLE, ON – To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Tim Hortons is calling on Canadians to help reintroduce for a limited time, one of its classic menu items from the past five decades with its Bring It Back online campaign.
“For 50 years Tim Hortons has been updating its menu to suit the evolving tastes and preferences of our guests, and with that, some menu items have come and gone, yet we continue to receive requests to bring back beloved menu items,” says Glenn Hollis, Vice President Marketing, Tim Hortons.
“Bring It Back is our way of saying thank you to our loyal guests for the past five decades. We hope it sparks fond memories for Canadians and Tim Hortons employees from coast to coast.”
From the psychedelic ’60s to the totally tubular ’80s, guests can travel back in time each throwback Thursday as five menu items – one from each decade – are announced for Bring It Back.
Once all five classic contenders are revealed, beginning May 1 through May 14, 2014, Canadians can vote daily for their favourite item at TimsBringitBack.ca or on Tim Hortons Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/TimHortons).
The winning item will be announced on Thursday, May 15, just in time for the company’s official birthday on Saturday, May 17, and will make its comeback in-restaurant later this year.
The first item in the running for Tim Hortons Bring It Back? The Eclair, which rose to popularity across Canada in the ’60s.
Dipped in chocolate fondant, then sliced and filled with whipped topping, this tasty treat is sure to spark memories from the past for guests across the country.
Canadians are encouraged to visit TimsBringitBack.ca or Tim Hortons Facebook page where every Thursday, a new Bring It Back menu item will be announced for the running.
