MILAN – Brazil is projected to export nearly 40 million 60-kg bags of coffee in all forms during the current season running from July to June, the country’s Conference of Coffee Exporters (Cecafé) estimated in its latest monthly report.
Shipments of green coffee are expected to reach 36-3 – 36.6 million bags. “Everything indicates that if we continue on the current pace, we should close the coffee crop year close to 40 million bags (in total exports), which will be a historical record,” said Cecafé’s president Nelson Carvalhaes.
Carvalhaes said export volumes in both January and February set records for each month as the year started strong.
