MILAN – Brazil’s exports of all forms of coffee to all destinations reached a total of 2,923,115 bags in May, up 13.4% on year, the Council of Green Coffee Exporters said on Monday.
Export value totalled US$539.515 million, a 19.5% increase compared to last year.
During the January-May period, Brazil’s exports of al forms of coffee amounted to 14.510.010 bags
The export shares of Arabica; Robusta and soluble coffee were of 84.8%, 5.6%, and 9.5% respectively (the share of R&G coffee was negligible)
The share of differentiated coffees was of 24.1% in volume and 32.5% in value.
Europe was the main export destination with 54% of shipments, followed by North America (25%), Asia (16%), South America (3%), Africa and Oceania (1% each).
The United States remain Brazil’s biggest export market with 2,957,420 bags in the first five months of the calendar year, followed by Germany (2,849,685 bags), Italy (1,126,633 bags), Belgium(952,892 bags). And Japan (930,986 bags).
Santos (76.6%) e Rio de Janeiro (18.3%) were the main export ports.
