MILAN, Italy – This World Water Day, BWT embarks on a bold initiative to champion the elixir of life, water. As Europe’s leading water technology company, BWT is taking a giant leap towards making a positive global impact and raising awareness and funds to guarantee this human right.
BWT Run – For You and Planet Blue – with mineralized water
The BWT Run is a global 6 km run with one fundamental goal: provide safe, clean water to communities in need around the world, no matter where they are. From May 13th to May 26th, changemakers from all around the world will join forces and lace up their running shoes for a cause that goes beyond borders.
The mission of this global run is to unite people in a common cause through the shared language of running. But why 6 km? In countries and regions affected by poverty and water scarcity, women and children have to walk an average of 6 km every day to fetch water.
On World Water Day BWT makes the commitment to run those km for them. BWT will donate € 1 for every kilometre run, so € 6 per person.
The project
b.waterMISSION is a project to promote sustainable access to water in Africa. Since the first b.waterMISSION drinking water well was built in 2019, almost 83 thousand people in Tanzania and Gambia have gained access to clean drinking water within 150 metres of their homes. In total, almost 406 million litres have been dispensed by the end of March 2024! Together, sip by sip, we can make the world a better place.
