MILAN – Cameroon shipped 17,247 tonnes of Robusta beans in the period running from December 2013 to September 2014, up 21.3% from the for the same period a year earlier, the National Cocoa and Coffee Board (NCCB) reported on Tuesday.
In September alone, the African nation exported 1,597 tonnes of coffee compared with 687 tonnes in the same month last year.
Exports of Arabica in the 2013/2014 season reached 2,175 tonnes, down almost 16% from 2,522 tonnes a year earlier. The Arabica season runs from October 1 to September 30.
