CALGARY, ALBERTA – Good Earth Coffeehouses are environmentally responsible coffeehouses and are proud to be hosting events at various locations to celebrate Earth Hour this Saturday, March 28th.
In select Good Earth Coffeehouses, the lights will be turned off and candles will be lit from 8:30-9:30pm in support of Earth Hour.
Live acoustic music will be played during the event and proceeds from sales during Earth Hour will be donated to the Nature Conservancy Canada (NCC). NCC is the nation’s leading private land conservation organization, working to protect our natural areas and the plants and animals they sustain.
Earth Hour is celebrated worldwide with more than 7,000 cities and towns by switching off their lights sending a powerful message for action on climate change.
“Celebrating Earth Hour with our customers makes sense for Good Earth. We have made environmental responsibility part of our mission since 1991,” says Nan Eskenazi of Good Earth Coffeehouse.
“We’re proud and excited to support NCC and their initiatives, as they work to protect valuable natural areas throughout Canada for generations of Canadians. Please join us for a fun and worthwhile evening out.”
Also as part of our partnership and support of NCC, all Good Earth Coffeehouse locations will donate $1.50 from the purchase of every travel mug from April 2 – May 31, 2015.
These proceeds will be used to purchase seedling. The seedlings will be planted on World Environment Day on June 5, 2015 at the Fleming Property, part of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton.
