MISSISSAUGA, ON – Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee Inc. announced today that it has finalized an agreement with QUSAC Decaf Inc. for a long-term supply of high quality decaffeinated coffee.

The agreement is part of a transaction in which Mother Parkers sold its equity interest in QUSAC back to the company, making it a 100% independent, family-owned business.

The new long-term supply agreement between the companies continues a partnership that has been in place for more than a decade and ensures that Mother Parkers’ customers will continue to benefit from QUSAC’s leadership in coffee decaffeination.

“Innovation is driving strong growth in the North American coffee industry based on new products which enhance convenience and quality, like our industry-leading capsules that will soon to be available in a recyclable EcoCup™ format,” said Sean Bredt, Vice President for Mother Parkers.

“We are committed to delivering industry-leading solutions for our customers and our ongoing partnership with QUSAC gives Mother Parkers access to innovative decaffeination processes and technologies, including those that minimize the environmental impact.”

QUSAC’s proprietary process is an industry leader in coffee decaffeination that requires less energy than other similar processes, making possible a more eco-friendly cup of decaffeinated coffee that maintains the original quality and taste.

Sean added: “Because Mother Parkers is recognized by our customers for a commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability, it is even more important to have long-term partnerships with suppliers that share our vision.”
