OAKVILLE, ON – Tim Hortons is celebrating its 50th anniversary and to mark this milestone, is launching a number of exciting initiatives as it pushes into the next 50 years. To kick off the celebration, the company is introducing a special 50th anniversary logo and packaging, and planning anniversary-themed campaigns that engage guests and fans leading up to its birthday on May 17.
Guests can now enjoy hot or cold beverages served in cups that feature the new 50th anniversary logo and 50 Years Fresh tagline. The anniversary branding will also extend to donut, muffin and Timbit boxes, bags and take home coffee.
“We’re thrilled to mark half a century pouring Canadians’ favourite cup of coffee,” said Marc Caira, President and CEO, Tim Hortons Inc.
“From a single location in Hamilton that opened in 1964, to the 4,350 restaurants across Canada, the U.S. and Gulf Cooperation Council, with the support of our loyal guests and dedicated restaurant owners, we’ve grown to serve nearly eight out of every 10 cups of coffee sold in Canada.”
As the May 17 anniversary approaches, Tim Hortons is also launching 50th anniversary merchandise including travel mugs and reusable cold beverage cups, available in restaurant and online beginning April 2014. “Anniversaries are a time to celebrate the best of the past while working towards the brightest future,” added Caira. “Even as the 50th anniversary year begins to unfold, Tim Hortons is hard at work, innovating, working to create the ultimate guest experience and looking toward the next 50 years.”
