CHARLOTTE, USA – The Charlotte Hornets announced that McDonald’s coffee will be sold at five Spectrum Center concession stands. McDonald’s coffee, which is already the Official Coffee of the Charlotte Hornets, will now be sold in the arena in the same Hornets-branded cups that are currently available at Charlotte-area McDonald’s locations.
“We are pleased to be able to offer our fans McDonald’s coffee inside Spectrum Center,” said Hornets President & COO Fred Whitfield.
“We are always looking for ways to improve the experience of our patrons and we thank our partners at both McDonald’s and Levy Restaurants for helping bring this to fruition.”
The in-arena coffee sales is a new element to the partnership between the two organizations.
McDonald’s also receives menu board branding at the five concession stands, social media support, in-game promotion, in-arena TV ads, concourse signage and ads on the Hornets radio broadcasts.
In addition, a 10 percent royalty per cup will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.
“We are very excited to begin selling McCafé coffee at Spectrum Center,” said Jeff Stanton, a McDonald’s owner/operator in the greater Charlotte area.
“We look forward to bringing our product to fans as they enjoy Hornets games and to raising money for the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.”
