TOKYO, Japan – Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Holdings Inc. (CCBJH) has achieved inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the Asia Pacific region for the seventh consecutive year. The DJSI is a globally-recognized ESG investment index.
The DJSI annually conducts the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). This assessment evaluates companies in the areas of Economy, Environment, and Society to identify those demonstrating high sustainability performance.
As a global benchmark for ESG investments, the DJSI plays a pivotal role in selecting key investment targets. The appraisals serve as the standard for selecting key investment destinations as a global index for ESG investment.
This year, CCBJH was among 161 companies selected from approximately 600 major companies in the region, including 78 from Japan. CCBJH received high scores for its Business Ethics and Environmental Policy & Management Systems.
CCBJH is committed to advancing CSR in line with ISO 26000 standards for organizational social responsibility. By placing Creating Shared Value (CSV) at the core of its business, CCBJH aims to achieve both business growth and social sustainability as a single objective. CCBJH’s concrete actions to resolve social issues led to its selection for the DJSI Asia Pacific.
