LONG BEACH, CA U.S.A. – The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) has officially debuted a new, fully responsive website to house information on its six national coffee championships: U.S. Barista Championship, U.S. Brewers Cup, U.S. Cup Tasters Championship, U.S. Latte Art Championship, Roasters Choice and Coffees of the Year.

The website will launch in conjunction with the Big Central event, held in Minneapolis MN October 25-27, 2013.

SCAA selected Seattle-based web development firm SeaMonster Studios to design and develop the new, expanded site which will feature live video streaming, competitor bios and coffee information and a more streamlined navigational layout.

“Our objectives with the new website were three-fold,” stated SCAA director of marketing and communications Tara Shenson, “to improve functionality for mobile users, to design a more user friendly environment that supports our community’s needs and to elevate the championship web environment to more closely match the excellence inherent in the programming and participants of these events.”

Shenson went on to say: “We selected SeaMonster Studios as our partner in this effort not only because of their exceptional web development portfolio but also based on their comprehensive client list within the specialty coffee industry; they not only know the technology, they understand our community as well and we’re excited to share the finished website with our membership.”

SCAA’s United States Coffee Championships, through their focus on excellence, encourage and recognize professional achievement in the art and skill of espresso beverage preparation and service.
