MILAN – Vietnam ’s coffee export for the month of March will reach approximately 2,500,000, according to a preliminary estimate from the country’s General Statistics Office (GSO).
This would bring total exports for the first three months of the year to 7,330,000 bags, down 7.8% from the same period last year.
The value of coffee exports in Jan-Mar period is expected to reach US$653, down 23.2% from the equivalent period of 2019, the GSO also reported.
According to analysts, this much sharper drop in the value of the Vietnam coffee exports during the first quarter of the year is more the reason for the percentage fall in the volume of coffee exports, than being related to coffee supply from the new crop.
