HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam – Vietnam’s coffee exports for coffee year 2017/18 totalled 1,746,000 tonnes, or 29.1 million bags according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The export volume is in line with estimates pegging coffee output for CY 2017/18 at a record 30 million bags, analysts say.
Coffee exports from Vietnam will rise an estimated 21.5 percent between January and October from a year ago to 1.58 million tonnes, equal to 26.3 million 60-kg bags, the GSO also reported on Monday.
Coffee export earnings for Vietnam, the world’s biggest producer of the Robusta variety, rose 1.1 percent to $2.98 billion in the 10-month period, the report said.
