Widespread access to affordable financial services is still a challenge for millions of small holder coffee farmers around the world. Tackling this issue and finding solutions to this problem is therefore essential to ensure the long term sustainability of the coffee sector.
Taking into consideration the urgency of the issue, the 4C Association, in collaboration with AgriProFocus, the Sustainable Coffee Program (SCP) and SCOPI (Sustainable Coffee Platform Indonesia), is organizing a three-day Finance Fair, including a two-day sustainability forum, in Lampung, Indonesia, between 25 and 27 of August 2015.
The event will bring together a large representation of stakeholders, including financial institutions, producer organizations, traders and roasters as well as government and research institutions.
The purpose is for them to discuss and analyze the issue in depth and jointly identify solutions that can bring relief to farmers lagging behind in access to reliable and affordable financial services.
The detailed agenda of the Coffee Finance Fair and Sustainability Forum will be available on the websites of AgriProFocus and the 4C Association within the coming two weeks.
