MILAN – The Colombian government and truckers unions reached an agreement on Friday to end the longest and most costly strike in Colombian history that brought a key section of the transport system outside the capital to a standstill for the past six weeks.
The deal includes a plan to replace older vehicles over time and provide enhanced benefits for drivers. However, the two sides failed to agree on toll road and fuel costs.
