BROOKLYN, NY, U.S. – CoffeeCon NY, The Consumer Coffee Festival returns for its second year on June 4, 2016 at Industry City in Brooklyn. Imagine 40 exhibitors so you can taste New York’s finest specialty coffees, treats and the best in new and classic coffee brewing gear.

Five classrooms deliver 20+ different classes in all the top brewing methods, and presentations and panel discussions including our Future of Coffee and Sustainability panels. The event takes place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Industry City 233 37th Street Brooklyn, NY 11232, a vintage NY space, perfect for our caffeinated one-day event.

Here’s what CoffeeCon has to offer:

  • Roasters, roasters and more roasters – CoffeeCon is known for our awesome tasting floor. Each sample you taste must be custom brewed moments before you taste. More than a dozen of the region’s top specialty coffee roasters will be continuously brewing samples throughout the day. Oren’s, Grumpy, Toby’s and many more.   • Brewing innovations, new products – Taste coffee brewers that aren’t even manufactured yet. Face it. Online videos just don’t let you taste. We are doing something about it by featuring a coffee inventors section, so you can taste them before investing.
  • Continuous hands-on classes. Take a turn brewing Chemex, Cold Brew, V-60 drip and Hario Syphon units. Lean to make the perfect espresso shots and learn to do foamed milk latte art. Learn water for coffee with noted water expert Jim Schulman. Grinding guru, Chris Spatz of Modern Process with teach the importance of proper grind to make perfect coffee.
  • Presenters – Presentations include Turgay Yildizli World Barista Championship winner’s demonstration of the world’s oldest, but specialty coffee’s newest methods: Turkish Coffee, Rusty Obra, AreoPress Champion, Samuel Demisse, Tasters Cup Champion from Ethiopia, Kenneth Davids, renowned Coffee Author and founder of the Coffee Review, a Sustainability panel discussing how to make coffee farming pay its way to growers actually featuring (gasp) a coffee farmer and our renown Ted-like Future of Coffee Panel. For fun, we have Philadelphia Inquirer Film Critic’s special Coffee at The Movies presentation featuring clips, stories and photos from his research into his new book, Café Cinema, which will also be available for signing.
  • Tasting classes – Learn to taste like a pro. George Howell, Legendary Boston roaster is an acknowledged industry tasting legend who leads our tasting seminar. Taste and compare samples from around the world, with George guiding your senses through a series of exercises so that you will be able to taste and evaluate coffee. Class is limited to 100 and requires a general admission ticket and an added $15 glassware fee.
  • Chemex Pop Up Museum – To commemorate the Chemex 75th anniversary, CoffeeCon proudly presents the first-ever museum featuring vintage Chemex brewers, and some rare designs and products of its genius inventor, Peter Schlumbohm. No extra fee is required.
  • Prize drawings – Cool prizes. Lots of them. All attendees eligible with ticket.
  • Food samples on the event floor and more…. Access to great Industry City food court, so you can spend the day and balance your coffee intake with savory satisfaction.
