BOGOTA, Colombia – Colombia has announced an extraordinary scheme to bring relief to the coffee sector and help struggling farmers hit by low international prices.
The government will allocate 100 billion pesos in a fund, which will be used to help coffee growers, the finance minister and the head of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC) said on Tuesday.
This sum amounts to about $34 million.
