MILAN – Colombia’s coffee output for June rose 3% on year to 944,000 60-kg bags, the National Federation of Coffee Growers reported on Wednesday.
Cumulative production in the last 12 months (July 2013 through June 2014) totalled 11.5 million 60-kg bags, up 27% compared to the previous equivalent period, as productivity improved thanks to a crop renovation program.
Shipments for the 12 month period reached 10.6 million 60-kg bags, a 31% increase over the previous year, stated the Federation. During the first half of calendar year 2014, production grew 12% or 600,000 bags more to 5.5 million 60-kg bags.
