BOGOTÁ, Colombia – According to the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC), Colombia’s coffee production for the month of October totalled 1 million 60-kg bags of green coffee, down 13% from the almost 1.2 million bags registered in October 2020.
October marks the beginning of the coffee year (October 2021-September 2022). So far this calendar year (January-October), production was almost 10.1 million bags, down 6% from the 10.7 million bags of the previous period.
In the last 12 months (November 2020-October 2021), production fell 5% to 13.2 million bags from almost 13.9 million bags a year earlier.
Year to date coffee exports (Jan-Oct) grew 2% to over 10.1 million 60-kg bags of green coffee from the over 9.9 million bags exported a year earlier.
In the last 12 months (Nov 2020-Oct 2021), coffee exports reached 12.7 million 60-kg bags, also up 2% from the almost 12.5 million bags exported in the same previous period.
In October (the beginning of the coffee year), they fell 6% to 986,000 bags from the almost 1.1 million placed abroad in October 2020.
