BOGOTÁ, Colombia – Figures of coffee production in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of washed mild Arabica, are getting back to normal, says the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation in its monthly report: in July registered production was 1.2 million bags, down 8% from the 1.3 million produced in July 2020.

Taking into account that registered production is calculated monthly from actual demand, and last May and June there were alterations in variables that made it impossible to have a reliable calculation, no production figures are shown for the year to date.

As to Colombian coffee exports, in July they continued recovering the ground lost to the pandemic and roadblocks and grew 9% to 1.2 million 60-kg bags of green coffee, from the 1.1 million exported in the same month of 2020.

So far this year (January-July), coffee exports reached almost 7 million bags, up 2% from the almost 6.9 million exported in the same period a year earlier.

Coffee year exports (October 2020-July 2021) remained practically unchanged, at 10.6 million bags sold abroad. And in the last 12 months (August 2020-July 2021), coffee exports fell 2% to 12.6 million 60-kg bags from almost 12.9 million bags exported a year earlier.
