BOGOTÁ, Colombia – In June, the registered coffee production in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of washed mild Arabica, fell 10% to 951,000 60-kg bags of green coffee from the almost 1.1 million produced in the same month of 2021, report the National Federation of Coffee Growers.
So far this year (January-June), production exceeded 5.4 million bags, down 5% from the slightly over 5.7 million bags produced a year earlier.
In the last 12 months (July 2021- June 2022), production reached almost 12.3 million bags, down 9% from the almost 13.5 million bags produced a year ago.
And in the coffee year (October 2021-June 2022), production fell to almost 9 million bags, 11% less than the almost 10.1 million a year earlier.
Coffee exports grow 6% in June
In the sixth month of the year, exports continued recovering and rose 6% to 939,000 60-kg bags of green coffee versus 890,000 exported in June 2021.
So far this year, coffee exports grew 2% to almost 5.9 million 60-kg bags from over 5.7 million bags sold abroad a year earlier.
In the last 12 months, exports remained practically unchanged, above 12.5 million bags, while in the coffee year, exports fell 2% to almost 9.2 million 60-kg bags from the almost 9.4 million bags exported in the same previous period.
