BOGOTA, Colombia – Colombia, the world’s leading producer of mild washed Arabica coffee, produced a total of 1.29 million 60-kg bags in February, an 18% increase compared to the 1.1 million bags produced during the same previous month.
Year-to-date production reached nearly 2.6 million bags, a 15% increase compared to the 2.2 million bags produced between January and February 2016.
Similarly, during the last 12 months (March 2016-February 2017), coffee production increased 2% by reaching a total of 14.6 million 60-kg bags.
So far this crop year (October 2016-February 2017), Colombian coffee production has increased 9% by reaching more than 6.9 million 60-kg bags.
Colombian Coffee Exports reach 1.19 million 60-kg bags in February
By reaching a total of 1.19 million 60-kg bags, Colombian coffee exports registered a 7% increase in February 2017. In this same line, year-to-date exports registered a 5% increase by reaching over 2.3 million bags.
During the last 12 months (March 2016-February 2017), coffee exports reached more than 12.9 million bags, a 1% increase compared to the 12.8 million bags exported between March 2015 and February 2016.
So far this crop year (October 2016-February 2017), exports reached over 6.3 million bags, an 11% increase compared to the nearly 5.7 million bags exported during the same previous period.
