BOGOTÁ, Colombia – In January, recorded production of coffee from Colombia, the world’s largest producer of mild washed Arabica coffee, was one million 81,000 60-kg bags, up 3% from million 50,000 bags produced in January 2020 reports the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) in its monthly figures.
In the last 12 months (February 2020-January 2021), production exceeded 13.9 million bags, down 4% from the 14.5 million bags produced in the same previous period.
And so far this coffee year (Oct 2020-Jan 2021), production exceeds 5.4 million bags, down 3% from the 5.6 million produced a year earlier.
Exports also increase 3%
In line with production, in January Colombian coffee exports exceeded 1.1 million 60-kg bags, up 3% from one million 65,000 bags exported in January 2020.
With almost 12.6 million 60-kg bags, Colombian coffee exports in the last 12 months fell 7% compared to almost 13.6 million bags exported a year earlier.
And so far the coffee year, exports exceeded 4.7 million bags, down 2% from the 4.8 million bags exported a year earlier.
