Home baristas looking to take their skills beyond the kitchen will get the chance to prove their coffee-making prowess at the Danes Home Barista Competition.
Entering its 4th year, the contest gives passionate home baristas the opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition and take home some great prizes including a Rocket R58 deluxe espresso machine.
The contest kicks off on Saturday July 13th, at Danes Cafe, Wahroonga.
The format is simple: contestants have three minutes to make two coffees – one espresso and one flat white.
Judges will select the winner based on taste evaluation, beverage presentation, barista technique and service to judge.
Five more heats will follow, and the winners from each heat will compete in the final on 28 September 2013, at the Danes Gourmet Coffee Institute, in Brookvale. The 2013 Danes Home Barista Competition

All finalists will receive a $200 Danes gift voucher and $100 worth of Danes fresh beans.
