Java Republic Managing Director, Grace O’Shaughnessy, has been appointed to the Events Committee of the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE).
This appointment positions Java Republic to be at the forefront of all European coffee events and be part of the strategic planning of significant industry activities in the coming years.
Key to Grace’s appointment will be her involvement in the planning of the upcoming World Barista Championships in Gothenburg in 2015 leading up to the World Barista Championships which will take place in Dublin in 2016.
The World Barista Championship (WBC) is the preeminent international coffee competition produced annually by World Coffee Events (WCE).
The competition focuses on promoting excellence in coffee, advancing the barista profession, and engaging a worldwide audience with an annual championship event that serves as the culmination of local and regional events around the globe.
Each year, champions representing more than 50 Nations each prepare 4 espressos, 4 cappuccinos, and 4 original signature drinks to exacting standards in a 15-minute performance set to music.
This involvement reinforces Java Republic’s drive to be thought leaders in the coffee industry in Ireland, to help shape the future and raise the bar in terms of quality and awareness in the coffee world.
