Sustainability claims act as filters, giving information about how products are made. But with so many sustainability programs around, how can people know which claims are credible?
One way is by checking whether the program is a member of the ISEAL Alliance, which is a global association that sets out codes of good practice for sustainability standards.
UTZ Certified is a full member, alongside a range of other sustainability programs focusing on everything from agriculture to fisheries, textiles and mining.
ISEAL is now running a consultation to further improve its Good Practice Guide. You can find out more by watching a short film, and click here to take part in the consultation.
