RIMINI – ltaly’s Cosimo Libardo is the new President of SCAE, the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe while Paul Stack (Ireland) is the vice president.
As well as the two newly elected members, the new board – which took office on the opening day of World of Coffee, the world’s premium Coffee event being held at Rimini Fiera until 12th June – includes Past President Drewry Pearson(Ireland).
‘I am very honoured to hold this position and particularly pleased that my investiture took place precisely in Rimini on the occasion of the Italian edition of World of Coffee”, stated Cosimo Libardo.
‘In a period in which precisely Italy, the home of espresso, reports a drop, even if only slight, in coffee consumption, SCAE intends being the platform for highlighting it and giving it new energy in both Italy and in Europe. World of Coffee is one of the most important moments in the association’s activities.’
Three Italian representatives have been elected among the new members of the board: Patrizia Cecchi, Luigi Morello and Alberto Polojac.
Rimini Fiera business unit manager Patrizia Cecchi, is doubly delighted with her nomination.
‘Rimini and its expo were chosen by the previous SCAE board for its traditional welcome and its great expertise in the hospitality, bar and catering/food service sectors’, confirmed Patrizia Cecchi, ‘This nomination, which is an honour for me, will enable me to put at the association’s disposal experience and knowledge, developing cooperation and in-depth work to the advantage of the association and the sector in Italy.’
