Costa Coffee gives Whitbread sales a boost

Costa reports 2.6 percent rise in like-for-like sales in the 13 weeks to June 2nd. The company maintains its plans to open 230-250 Costa stores worldwide this year

LONDON, Uk – The Whitbread Group, owner of Costa Coffee and Premier Inn, reported Tuesday like-for-like sales growth –of 1.8% in the 13 weeks to 2 June, up slightly from 1.7 per cent during the final quarter of its last financial year.

Like-for-like sales at Costa coffee rose 2.6% over the said period, while Premier Inn posted sales growth of 2.1%.
