MILAN – Sintercafe – International Coffee Week – opened yesterday at the Marriott Los Suenos hotel, on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast town of Herradura, minutes north of Playa Jaco. This year in its 27th edition, Sintercafe is without a doubt one of the most interesting and best attended coffee event taking place in a coffee producing nation.
This trade show gather all the segments of the coffee chain from seed to cup.
Costa Rica becomes the meeting place for key decision makers from the most important coffee companies in the world.
Held from November 14th through November 17th , this year’s event is expected to attract more that 500 participants, both and international.
Besides the exhibition the program includes conferences, social activities, visits to plantations and a processing plant, workshops and tasting sessions.
In 1986 a group of visionary Costa Ricans met for the first time to promote the excellent quality of Costa Rican coffee by celebrating the International Coffee Week (SINTERCAFE, Semana Internacional del Café), which eventually became one of the most outstanding coffee event held in producing countries.
Sintercafe, now declared of public interest, is held every November, and for the last 27 years has been organized by a non-profit organization to bring together Costa Rican growers and potential buyers in a series of activities.
