MILAN, Italy – A Brazilian cupping session organised by Dalla Corte and Imperator took place on June 20 at Spazio Candiani, Milan.
Six Costa Rican coffees were cupped – three of which were Cup of Excellence coffees. New and known people gathered to focus on the aromas and tastes of six valuable single-origins and as many varieties processed with different methods.
First, the infusion method was explained: the dose of coffee for each cup is ground individually (8.25 g per 150 ml of water) in order to isolate any possible defects that would otherwise be distributed over the cups.
Each taster had three cups to smell, taste and feel in their mouth, as well as a cupping form, where an objective evaluation of each coffee could be noted down. All the samples amazed the tasters for their quality and pleasant aromatic complexity.
The event was closed by the live screening of FIFA World Cup “Italy – Costa Rica” football match, which ended with the Italian defeat.
