MILAN, Italy – Save the date: this upcoming Wednesday 14th of December Dalla Corte is going to meet up in Viale Ortles 88, Milano, to start Throwdown Before Christmas, a latte art contest signed by Dalla Corte for the Italian coffee community. Dalla Corte has invited the best local latte artists to confront each other in an unconventional latte art competition, in front of an exceptional jury led by Latte Art Specialist and international judge Chiara Bergonzi.

For the competition the baristas will work on the Icon, multigroup espresso machine that has been launched little over a year ago by Italian manufacturer Dalla Corte espresso. Icon is a machine with incredible thermal constancy – adjustable to a tenth of a degree – that can guarantee perfect milk frothing to our competitors, thanks to its independent steam boiler.
The Throwdown mode establishes a leaderboard with 1 vs. 1 direct eliminations. The challengers will make two cups per round and will choose which one to present to the judges, each round is won by the best out of 3.
To make the contest even more unpredictable and exciting, Dalla Corte brings latte art out of the box: in addition to classic designs, there will also be decorations out of the cup in unexpected containers, and crazy latte art rounds with fun challenges.
Up for grabs is €4.000 for first place, a prize pool that makes the competition really exciting.
And for the runner-up there will be €500 offered by sponsors Urnex / DM Italia.

The coffee is selected by Little Bean coffee roaster while the milk is Alpro Oat, ideal for professional use, it makes a perfect emulsion thanks to its properties.
This is not just an opportunity to win a coveted prize, the goal is also sharing passion for coffee with the whole coffee community. And after the competition, there will be a closing Xmas Party.
