BELFORTE DEL CHIENTI, Italy – This is the first machine with a new construction philosophy and a new engine capable of guaranteeing performance, saving energy and reducing environmental impact. Now Eagle One, Victoria Arduino‘s espresso machine, also complies with the major sustainability rating systems in the building sector (LEED, BREEAM, WELL, Estidama, etc.) to achieve Green Building Certification.
Ongreening, the web portal dedicated to architects, designers and engineers that provides detailed information on the compliance of products with the main environmental standards in the construction sector, has added Eagle One to its database as a product capable of reducing energy consumption and therefore emissions of the building or premises in which it is installed.
Certification programs such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL, ESTIDAMA and many others , in fact, promote a sustainability-oriented approach, recognising the performance of buildings in key areas, such as energy and water saving, reduction of CO2 emissions, improvement of the ecological quality 1 of interiors, materials and resources used.
How does Eagle One save energy and reduce environmental impact, while maintaining high quality and performance?
Reduction of energy consumption by 35% compared to espresso machines of the same category: the new NEO engine (New Engine Optimization) allows the same performance to be obtained, improving energy efficiency. The innovative feature lies precisely in the name NEO because it is a new approach to heating water for coffee extraction.
The NEO engine uses instant heating technology which requires smaller volumes and boilers as only the water that is needed is heated. The boilers are also insulated and covered with an innovative insulating material that prevents heat dispersion and increases energy efficiency.
The procedure is efficient but also simple: the barista only has to set the temperature from the display. The machine’s electronics do the rest, keeping the temperature stable throughout the entire dispensing phase. Productivity and performance remain unchanged, but consumption is significantly reduced by 35% compared to espresso machines of the same category.
Reduction of environmental impact by 23% compared to espresso machines of the same category. The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study on Eagle One has shown that the new engine and components and materials guarantee a 23% reduction in environmental impact (in terms of kilos of CO2 emissions) compared to espresso machines of the same category. The LCA is a structured and standardised methodology for analysing the life cycle of a product and quantifying its potential impacts on the environment and human health. Recovery of waste energy for an energy saving of 8%.
Eagle One, with its NEO engine, has also introduced a new patented T.E.R.S. technology (Thermal Energy Recovery System) which exploits the energy of the waste water to preheat the incoming water. The result is a saving of 8% on the total consumption of the machine.
With V.I.S. (Virtual Intelligent Scale) even more precision, less waste and no additional components: VIS is a virtual scale based on an artificial intelligence algorithm that favours an even faster workflow and an always correct dose compared to the previous version of Eagle One. In addition to reducing waste, VIS is implemented in the espresso machine without the use of any additional components, maintaining the unaltered minimal, contemporary and sustainable design of Eagle One.
