ATLANTA, US – East Pole Coffee Co.’s second Atlanta location will be at 676 N. Highland Ave., in the Plaza on Ponce, a property owned by Asana Partners which includes well-known tenants like Majestic Diner, Plaza Theatre, Urban Outfitters, and Southern Belle. The Birmingham location will be in The Denham Building, a mixed use development from Third & Urban at 1143 1st Avenue S. in the city’s Parkside District.

Both locations will offer expanded hours, transitioning in the evening into a wine bar with a focus on natural wines. The current Armour Yards site, which opened in 2017, will continue to operate as the company’s roastery and coffee bar.

While neither location has been delivered for buildout, both leases have been signed and the company hopes to open them in late 2021 or early 2022.

“East Pole’s expansion in Atlanta and Birmingham is in line with our mission to make specialty coffee approachable to everyone, and to practice excellent hospitality,” said co-owner and director of coffee Jared Karr. “Widening our menu and increasing our hours at these new locations will give our team new ways to do both. We’re excited for the opportunity to serve excellent products and provide customers with a memorable, high-caliber experience.”

“East Pole delivers one of the best coffee experiences in Atlanta and we are thrilled that they’ve chosen Plaza on Ponce to expand,” said Katie Grissom, Managing Director of Asana Partners. “This is a very important use for the neighborhood and we believe East Pole delivers an experience that will be well received by the community and that it will be a gathering place for the neighborhood to enjoy.”

Third & Urban managing partner Pierce Lancaster said, “East Pole proved to be the heart and soul of our Armour Yards project, and remains a cornerstone of that neighborhood today. We knew the quality of their product, the warmth of their service, and their ability to build a loyal community following, together would bring a valuable addition to The Denham Building and the Parkside District in Birmingham.”

East Pole Coffee Co.’s aim to educate its customers about the specialty coffees it serves has been a priority from the beginning, by providing barista training to its wholesale partners and free coffee cuppings at their roastery. Though they have paused these events due to the Covid-19 pandemic, approachability and hospitality continue to be top priorities for the company.

“We will continue to serve our guests at all locations and pair quality and hospitality in all that we do. We are excited to add natural wine to our line up as this is just another way for us to elevate the high-quality experience at our bars that customers have come to expect,” said Karr.
