According to a report by the coffee division at Cairo’s Chamber of Commerce, Egypt has reported a 10 percent increase in the rate of coffee imports.
About 70 percent of Egypt’s coffee imports come from Indonesia where coffee beans are more affordable, but of high quality.
One ton of coffee beans costs internationally between $3,500 to $5,000 based on the type.
Egypt imports its supplies of coffee, as the country’s climate is not suited for cultivating the crop.
