MILAN, Italy – A feast for the eyes, ears, nose, fingertips and tastebuds: whenever we sit down for a meal, all five senses are involved. We smell the aroma of the food as it is brought in from the kitchen, admire the table display and its colours as well as those of the food itself, delighting in the way it looks, feels, tastes and even sounds (coffee beans being ground, say, or wine being uncorked and poured out…) and we touch the utensils we need to eat and drink with, and perhaps also the food itself.
Yes, eating is an all-round sensorial experience and this is now the subject of Enjoy the Table, the event organised at Host 2015 by the associations ART, The Art of Tableware and Gifts, and ALTOGA, the Association of Lombard coffee Importers and Grinders and Food Wholesalers, promoted by Confcommercio Milano,Lodi, Monza and Brianza
Enjoy the Table is an events format that involves chefs and masters such as Marco Orsini, Danilo Angè and Elena Piovanelli or experts such as Professor Lucini, with themed days on parties, tradition, well-being and street food, whose common denominator is its shared values: sociability, culture, sustainability and innovation.
It’s an elaborate sequence of events where the spotlight will be on the union between food, the tools that bring out the best in it and the art of the “mise en place”, or place setting, an itinerary suffused with the aroma of coffee.
A veritable jamboree that will reach its culmination with the 4th LAGS Grand Prix (Latte Art Grading System), grading & battle.
