LONDON – International Tea Day is on 21st May and Esta are celebrating by hosting what they hope will be the world’s biggest online tea sipping event at 14.00 British Summer Time. Lasting for one hour the event will bring together tea lovers and professionals from around the world to meet, share, sip tea, network and have fun.

A fantastic line up of contributors including;

Paola Cruz, a wellbeing influencer @practicewithpaola, talking about tea and wellbeing and how to infuse this in your life. Virginia Lovelace, author and tea scientist talking about how to improve your tea experience at home.

Nepal Tea Collective sisters talking about their life in tea

Muskan Khanna talking about being one of the youngest women tea makers; Madelaine Au presenting on organising a successful tea event in Oregon; Lucy (Mynt Mynt) Shwe from Mother’s Love tea in Myanmar speaking about the uniqueness of Burmese tea culture.

In addition, Esta are raising funds through the event to help support education for women in the Tea industry, and will be partnering with two different agencies, the Nepal Tea Foundation and Rare Charity who support education with Setamwa Tea estate in Malawi.

In partnership with Esta Nepal Tea Collective’s sister non-profit wing Nepal Tea Foundation will be presenting at least one scholarship for tea training and management to empower women in the tea industry. Through tailored assistance Rare Charity removes the barriers and pressures that female scholars experience. This allows them to focus on and succeed in their studies, and develop the self-belief to realise positive change for themselves and their communities.

Bernadine Tay, Founding Director of Esta, host and moderator of the event said “A woman who is equipped with the proper resources has the power to lift whole families and communities. Let’s get together on International Tea Day to empower as many women as we can, helping them and the entire tea industry to thrive, and enjoy sipping tea whilst we are doing it!”
